• Old HCI was a third-year elective; CSE12B is first-year core, so expect lighter treatment of evaluation theory and statistics — first-years haven't taken Probability & Statistics yet (that's Q4).
• CSE12B is an entry requirement for CSE200 Software Project.
• From WDT WEB/ covers HTML/CSS/JS, REST, Node/Express, React, WebSockets — treat as background context only; the official CSE12B description says nothing about web technologies, so don't assume they're examinable.
