Assessment

Not stated for CSE12C itself. Inherited exams — IDM's single WebLab endterm (100%, pass ≥5.8, one A4 cheat sheet allowed) and WDT DB's hybrid paper+WebLab midterm (50% of the old grade) — aren't a reliable guide to the new course's assessment.

Worth knowing

• Roughly half the combined material "will not survive" per the course's own instructions — IDM's systems-internals content (query optimization internals, recovery, distributed transactions) is most at risk of being cut or thinned.
• The web half of old WDT (HTML/CSS/JS, React, Express) is not here — that's filed under CSE12B instead.
• Recommended study order: model a domain, write correct SQL, then reason about what the DBMS is doing underneath.
• Old IDM had a distinctive exam question style: given an AI-generated SQL query that's subtly wrong, find and fix the bug.
