Electives
Under the new curriculum you pick 5 electives: 2 in Year 2 Q3, 3 in Year 3 Q3. Electives are year-agnostic — the same course can in principle be taken either year — so this folder is flat rather than split by year like the core trees.
TU Delft has not published the new elective course codes. Folder names carry no code, only the full name and abbreviation, per the root README's convention. Don't expect a CSE__ code here until TU Delft publishes one.
Expect scheduling conflicts: some electives sit in the same slot and cannot be combined in the same year. Check the study guide before you plan your five.
The list
Per the Feb 2026 assembly deck, the elective list is "mostly final." It groups the 12 named electives by origin:
| Status | Electives |
|---|---|
| Same as before | Functional Programming, Introduction to Quantum Computer Science |
| Moved (existed before, different slot) | Computer Graphics (was compulsory core), Big Data Processing (was Data-variant), Embedded Software (was Systems-variant) |
| New | AI-augmented Software Engineering, AI for Information Access, Deep Learning and Gen AI, Fundamentals of Signal & Information Processing, Automated Reasoning and Negotiation, Modern Communication Systems, Bioinformatics |
| T.B.D. | Selected courses from Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, and TPM — not yet named, not represented here |
What has material
| Folder | Status |
|---|---|
| Big Data Processing (BDP) | Has material |
| Computer Graphics (CG) | Has material |
| Embedded Software (ES) | Has material |
| Functional Programming (FP) | Has material |
| Introduction to Quantum Computer Science (IQCS) | Has material |
| Fundamentals of Signal and Information Processing (FSIP) | Has material — reconstructed, see its README |
| AI for Information Access (AIIA) | Empty stub |
| AI-augmented Software Engineering (AASE) | Empty stub |
| Automated Reasoning and Negotiation (ARN) | Empty stub |
| Bioinformatics (BINF) | Empty stub |
| Deep Learning and Gen AI (DLGA) | Empty stub |
| Modern Communication Systems (MCS) | Empty stub |
The six "New!" electives without material are first taught in 2027-28 — nobody has sat them yet, hence no lectures, exams, or notes to archive.
Worth knowing
- The three "Moved" electives (CG, BDP, ES) carry their old course's full material — lectures, exams, notes — because they're the same course, just relocated in the curriculum. Treat that material as directly relevant.
- FSIP is a special case: it's assembled from three old Multimedia-track courses as an unofficial, student-made judgement call, not TU Delft's stated lineage. Read its README before trusting the mapping.
- None of the electives listed here have a published EC value confirmed in this archive beyond the standard 5 EC pattern; course-level READMEs state EC only where the source material supports it.
