Not published for the merged course. Old SQT: single 3h WebLab exam (MC + coding), pass ≥5.75, partly graded via a custom coverage/mutation-testing tool. Old SEM: exam 100% (pass ≥5.75; closed-book digital WebLab since 2024-25 — MC + open + PlantUML diagramming) plus mandatory pass/fail oral presentations and peer review. Whether the oral-presentation component survives into CSE13B is explicitly unconfirmed — don't assume it does.

Worth knowing

• The merged course sits a year earlier (Y1 Q3) than either original — students won't yet have Algorithm Design, ML, or Year-2 material as background, so depth on ML4SE/software-at-scale content is unconfirmed.
• SQT's exam allowed lookup of whitelisted library docs (JUnit, Mockito, Jqwik, Selenium) during the exam; non-compiling code scored 0.
• SEM's exam format changed from written/open-book to closed-book digital WebLab (MC + open + PlantUML) in 2024-25 — older SEM papers are less representative of current style.
• One of four gates for CSE200 Software Project, alongside CSE11B, CSE12B, and an SP Bootcamp.
